College of Architecture

The College of Architecture offers the Bachelor of Architecture, which is a five-year degree program. Within the context of the University Mission Statement and Objectives, the program provides for the academic challenge of preparing students for the building of new structures and conserving the old ones to renew and update the physical environment and improve the quality of human life.

The curriculum is ladder type and is designed to provide a disciplined approach to critical analysis, problem solving, decision making, and work methods based on acquiring the significant knowledge and skills of the profession. The first three years put emphasis on providing opportunities for the students to draw with a sense of quality and technical expertise, develop visual perception, understand construction as a means of communication of principles, and the analysis of functions as means of arriving at a rational architecture. Upon satisfactory completion of the requirements of the University and of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, the students obtain a Certificate in Building Technology.

The last two years are used to plan actual projects and explore the more detailed spatial and visual considerations and to gain knowledge in computer science as applied to Architecture. These projects develop the student's understanding of the various aspects of the architect's professional role. Special emphasis is given on the importance of research as evidenced by the thesis requirement for the course. Additionally, the knowledge and understanding of the ethical guidelines of the profession is a significant component of the program.
This academic background is enhanced by membership in related professional organizations, field trips, conferences, and other forums.

Vision:
The College of Architecture is to offer quality Architecture education that is responsive and to prepare students to become responsible and competent professionals. The Vincentian architect must be commited to excellence and must aspire to serve the community and become a leader in nation building.

Mission:
The Mision of the College of Architecture is to prepare students to be ethical and humane professionals, with a desire for life-long learning, a passion for excellence, and the aspiration to contribute to human development by designing a true Filipino architecture.
The Academic Program should offer opportunities to focus on the needs of the students equipped to meet the architectural challenges in the practice of the profession.

The College should strive to be one of the best schools in the study of architecture development excellent, professional and creative skills, incorporating architectural designs with technology.

Hurting In The Present For Persevering The Past

Now that you're gone it seems I long for you day and night

As I reminisce of your kisses as you held me tight

I never dreamt that you would leave

I thought that you would be here to stay

I cried my self to sleep when I heard you say

" Can we just be friends? "

Your words tore me apart, as you stole my heart

You left me stranded, no where to go , no one to turn to

In that situation that selfish person would be you

It seems as if you didn't care, about me nor my feelings as you left me in despair

I start to cry whenever I hear your name, as your voice repeats in my head

"Can we just be friends?"

I ask myself every day, Was it because of me?

But how? I never loved some one with a love so deep

I sit here now alone and depressed

Wondering if you feel my loneliness

Just then I start to tremble because I know that the answer is no

You left me because you loved her so

Wishing things were as they were

Before I lost you, before her

But. since my love was so strong I strived and no matter what hung on

It's been a while, at least a month and a half

You could even call it the past

And still to this day I still hear you say

"Can we just be friends? "

Although it's hard, I now know that you weren't the one.

And it is time for me to move on
